How do you say ‘I love you’? How do you articulate love? How do you know love? Today is a celebration of love. A celebration of hope, life but mainly a celebration of love.
How does a mother express her love? She carries you for nine months and cares for you for a lifetime. A mother’s love is written in time.
How does a father express his love? He works and sweats for decades on end to provide for you. From your first bite of food to your first pair of shoes. A father’s love is written in his work, like a craftsman.
How does a sibling, a sister or brother, show their love? They laugh with you, they get you when a whole world of adults never seems to understand. But they argue with you more than anyone else in your life; they fight with you. A sibling’s love is written in their presence, company you keep for all of your life.
How do your friends, who are more like brothers express their love. You’ve been there for us at our lowest points so we journey from anywhere on earth to be there for you at your highest point and your lowest too. By wishing you happiness. Happiness that makes their life feel like a dream and dreams that make their life so happy.
May your new life together be blessed with honest companionship, lively conversation, serenity when you see each other, tranquility when you think of one another, and peace: peace of mind, peace in your heart, and everlasting peace in your soul. But mostly may your new life be filled with love, everlasting, heart-warming, gut-churning, mind-boggling, earth-shattering, unexplainable, unconditional, unwarranted, unapologetic, and awe-inspiring love.
Today is a celebration of love. But know that at this celebration you are so loved and surrounded by love, loving faces, loving smiles, and loving people. We celebrate love by loving you! And that’s how we know love.
