Ouroboros In Love

Read Now

By Ahmed Latif

From a circle to a sphere.
From inadequate to incomplete.
From freedom to fear.
Now that my love is obsolete.
I was just a ripple in a pond
In a city at the bottom of the lake
In a dream where you were conned.
But now you are wide awake.

You’ll be the stars to my night sky.
You are so bright and far away.
I don’t mean to stare or to pry.
But I am just so lost in the grey.

Suddenly we find
That the night begins
When the carousel in my mind
Turns on the lights and spins.

We are written in chalk.
Yet trapped in the text.
Dancing with the clock,
One hand over the next.
