Song Of The River
By Ahmed Latif
Time runs along the riverbanks
Barefoot as an escaping slave.
Time dances to the tunes of the river
Faithful as a monk ordained by tears.
Time wades across the river
Tired as a mutineer on the run.
Time dreams of the river
Blissful as a purely physical affair.
Time wanted none of this.
But Time will never forget any of this.
